In New York State, criminal charges can completely change your life. Although the law states that you are innocent until proven guilty, the fact is that you may have severe consequences from the moment you are arrested, or even accused.  Seemingly simple arrests for offenses like Unlawful Possession of
Marihuana (Marijuana)DWI and Theft may lead to deportation of denial of United States citizenship if you are not a citizen of the United States. Our criminal defense lawyers work closely with immigration attorneys to ensure that your criminal case does not have undue immigration consequences.

The New York State Penal Law is an extensive body of laws which make many acts criminal. Ignorance of the law is not a defense. If you are stopped by the police, remain silent, remain calm, and ask to speak to an attorney.  Even if you are innocent, it may be harmful for you to speak to law enforcement.  One of our most valuable rights is the right to remain silent.

Having experienced and diligent legal counsel is essential because if you are convicted, the results may include substantial jail time and often expensive fines imposed by the court.

Our New York Criminal Defense Attorneys also have extensive experience representing college students who have criminal charges against them. Seemingly minor charges like Marihuana possession and Petit Larceny can have devastating consequences for college students.  These charges can lead to denial of student loans, and even expulsion from school.  If you, or a loved one is a college student facing criminal charges contact us immediately so that we may help you effectively resolve the case while preserving your ability to complete your education.

We are seasoned criminal defense lawyers who are located in White Plains NY.  Our criminal defense lawyers have handled thousands of criminal cases in Westchester County and throughout the Hudson Valley.  Our White Plains NY offices make us centrally located and allow us to represent clients throughout Westchester County, the five boroughs of  New York City, Putnam County, Dutchess County, Rockland County, and the Hudson Vally.  As Westchester Criminal Lawyers, we are always in the courts of Westchester County. We are familiar with the police, prosecutors and judges, and we approach every case as if it was the most important case we have, because to you, it is.

Mayo appears almost every week on a legal panel featured on Richard French Live which is available on WRNN.  The show is taped live every Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. and airs throughout New York, Connecticut and New Jersey, including the five boroughs of New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, the Washington DC Metro Area, Dallas, Houston, San Fransisco and Los Angeles.
